The YFC Events Team wants to ensure all your questions are answered! We will continually update this FAQ page as we hear additional questions being asked, so let this be your first stop when trying to find answers for your NLC-related questions. If you don’t see your question answered here, please email events@yfc.net.

Q: What about COVID-19?

We continue to actively monitor the facts and circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic specifically for the safety of everyone involved in the National Leadership Conference. We remain in a “go” posture and are prepared for several scenarios. Given the conditions created by the COVID-19 delta variant, we are asking that every attendee wear a mask in public at the National Leadership Conference, vaccinated or unvaccinated. We also continue to monitor federal, state, and local guidance, as well as the Marriott Indianapolis Downtown’s requirements. We will respectfully comply to any changes and developments.

Q: How do I get to NLC?

The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is a 15-20-minute ride from the hotel. For those flying in, you can rent a car, catch an Uber (approximately $30), or jump on the IndyGo bus. The IndyGo bus will drop you off downtown near the hotel. For those driving in, several parking options are available (see below) and there is a dedicated drop-off zone on the west side of the property (Missouri street) for those arriving by bus or coach.

Q: What are the options for parking?

  • Option 1:
    • Valet at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown
    • $52.00 per day
  • Option 2:
    • Self-park at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown
    • $39.00 per day (YFC has negotiated 25% off the prevailing rate of $47.00)
  • Option 3:
    • Street parking is available in downtown Indianapolis and immediately adjacent to the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. You will need to be mindful of meter timing.

Q: What do I need to know about the 2021 NLC Awards Show?

The NLC Awards Show is about celebrating together! Think Oscars and Grammys combined with a YFC flavor! During the 2021 NLC Awards Show we will honor our staff who have achieved years of service milestones ranging from 25-50 years of service. We will also be presenting other special awards, including the Bill Eakin Award, and a new award in honor of our friend Jerry Wheeler, The Jerry Wheeler "Heart of YFC" Award. The award show begins at 7pm with an afterparty immediately following, and the red carpet open beforehand! 

  • Dresscode: This is a fun opportunity to dress up and bust out your fancy clothes, but you can come as you are and will be welcomed with open arms! We recommend dressing up (interpret that how you want) but just come ready to have fun.
  • Red Carpet & Photo Ops: At 6:30pm the red carpet will be lit up and ready for you to strut through and get your photo taken by the paparazzi! There will also be photo opportunities later in the night as well.
  • Afterparty: After the awards are handed out join us down in the Indiana Ballroom for some refreshments, photos and mingling!
  • After-After Party (Dance time): After some time to mingle and enjoy refreshments, space will be cleared on the dance floor--you'll be all dressed up with no place to go, so you might as well dance!
  • Award Recipients: If you are recieving a service award you should have recieved information, but if you believe you are supposed to be recieving a service award (25 years and up) please e-mail hr@yfc.net.

Q. Will people who have 25+ years of service and are unable to attend the NLC still be recognized?

 Service awards for those who were unable to attend the NLC but who are eligible for a 25+ years of service award will have their awards sent to their chapters to be presented by their executive directors.

Q. How are years of service less than 25+ recognized?

Each chapter will be responsible for acknowledging the mile stone service years of 5, 10, 15, and 20. The NSC will acknowledge those with 25+ years of service at the annual NLC.

Q: What is included in the registration cost?

Registration covers your entrance to the event, all main sessions, workshops, scheduled receptions, and more. Travel, hotel rooms, parking, meals and activities and any other incidentals are at your own expense.

Q: Will any complimentary food and/or drinks be served during the conference?

Yes, but only during these specific times:

  • Welcome Reception (all registered guests)
    • Complimentary drinks and appetizers from 1:30 – 3:30pm
  • Celebration Reception (all registered guests)
    • Complimentary appetizers and desserts
  • Women & Leadership (registered female guests only please)
    • Complimentary coffee and scones
  • Executive Breakfast (registered executive leaders only please)
    • Complimentary light continental breakfast

Q: Is breakfast Included in the hotel room rate?

Unfortunately, no, breakfast is not included in the room rate but there is an onsite restaurant as well as a grab-and-go market with options for a light or full breakfast. In addition, there are wonderful restaurants and cafés within walking distance of the Marriott Indianapolis Downtown. 

Q: Where and how do I book a room for NLC?

The NLC will be hosted at Indianapolis Marriott Downtown (350 West Maryland Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225). Book your room here.

Q: Who is invited?

NLC is designed to be a “family gathering” for ALL YFC leaders such as Site Directors, Affiliate Directors, Executive Leaders, Coordinators, Board Members, Admin, Young Leaders, spouses, and any other leaders.

Q: What content can I expect?

Our content will be focused on movement inspiration, vision for our future, and spiritual formation and renewal that consists of:

  • Building Christ-centered community through corporate worship
  • Growing in Biblical knowledge & spiritual strength through teaching from mainstage & in breakouts
  • Honoring God through celebration of ministry advancement

 Q: Why did we select Indianapolis?

Besides being a cool location to host our event, our team considered several factors when evaluating perspective cities and venues. Some of those factors include geographic location (for flyers and drivers), time of year, physical space in the venue, contract costs, nightly hotel room rate, staging for program, proximity to amenities, activites, meals etc. After taking all this into account Indianapolis is the best choice for 2021. 

Q: How does the NLC registration price compare to past MidWinters?

Compared to MidWinter 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida, NLC 2021 pricing will be very similar (in fact, for some it will be a reduced price). Please see our registration page for additional details on pricing.
